Zimbabwe is situated on a high plateau in Southern Africa, between the Zambezi and the Limpopo rivers. It is landlocked and bounded by the countries of Zambia, Mozambique, South Africa and Botswana. Zimbabwe covers 390 245 km2, that is equal to the size of California. Most parts of Zimbabwe lie more than 300m above sea level.
English is the official language. Other widely spoken languages are Chishona and Sindebele, which also have various dialects and other minority languages.
